Brendan Dolan

Piano, Irish wooden flute and whistles

Brendan Dolan, son of Irish music legend, Felix Dolan, came of age in a home filled with Irish music and dance. He learned the rudiments of piano accompaniment from his father, the love of both Irish step-dancing and group dancing from his mother, and the whistle and wooden flute from renowned Irish American musician Maureen Glynn in New York. While working as a highly regarded accompanist in Irish Music in the United States, Brendan earned a degree in Jazz Performance from State University of New York at New Paltz. He has written music for television and film and has produced a number of Irish traditional recordings. Still true to his love of Jazz and world music, he has performed as a member of the acclaimed Andy Statman Quartet for several years, including a tour with Itzhak Perlman. Cathie has been lucky enough to work with Brendan for over 10 years. He brings a love of the traditional music of Ireland to all the songs in Cathie's sets.

He is currently working towards his Masters Degree in Irish Music at New York University.
